This handmade coffee card made with layered dies comes together SO FAST and is endlessly customizable!
When you see how unbelievable fast this handmade coffee card made with layered dies comes together you might start looking for excuses to send coffee cards to people! Honestly, it comes together faster than a cup of Sanka – remember that? – and it’s the perfect card for all those orphaned pieces of patterned paper you have floating around.
You can use any of your favorite nested dies from Rubbernecker – I used the Nested Scallop with Half Holes – and cut your layers from your patterned paper – this is from Rubbernecker’s Java Good Time 6×6 Paper Pad. I added a die cut detail using their Teapots and Cups, die set and popped on a simple sentiment from their Coffee Cats Clear Set.
Here are the “details” – honestly, this card is so fast and simple but I know when people are just starting out or want to get an inside peek at my process, these are helpful.
Card Base and Die Cut Scallop Layers
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and the small die from the Nested Scallop with Half Holes. set.
- Cut a dark brown Nested Scallop with Half Holes layer using the largest die in the set and the second size die to cut the Java Good Time layer.
- Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the brown scallop layer and attach it to the card base.
- Use ATG adhesive to attach the Java Good Time layer to the brown scallop layer.
- Secure the small white layer in the MISTI and stamp the Coffee Cats sentiment using Color Fuse Caramel ink.
- Attach the sentiment layer to the card base using strips of mounting tape.
The Coffee Cup
- Cut the Teapots and Cups cup using Java Good Time paper and the saucer using brown cardstock.
- Attach the saucer to the cup using rolled up strip of double stick tape.
- Apply a piece of mounting tape to the back of the cup and attach it to the sentiment layer.
See? You can make it in no time flat! Here’s what I used from Rubbernecker so you can make your own:

There are SO many ways you can design this card and add any sentiment you want to convey warmth, comfort, friendship….. Ok, I might have just motivated myself to go make more of these cards!
