NEW – Festival of Colors Paper Pad from Rubbernecker

I am so excited to share this card I made in a flash using the new Festival of Colors Paper Pad from Rubbernecker – come check it out!

Have you seen the new Festival of Colors Paper Pad from Rubbernecker? Designed by my fellow Design Team member Melinda Stearns, this collection of beautiful patterned papers are all about the rich, beautiful colors of fall. Here’s a peek at the patterns:

Aren’t they GLORIOUS? In addition to the sweet pumpkin design from this new Rubbernecker Paper Pad, I used their Winter Sign, Small Classic Alphabet, Large Garden Fence, Pumpkins and Ivy, and Classic Grass, dies to create my little scene. Let me walk you through the making.

A cute handmade pumpkin patch card with a pattern from the new Festival of Colors Paper Pad from Rubbernecker as the background.

Card Base, Fence and Sign

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and dark brown cardstock to cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ layer.
  • Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the brown layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Cut a 5.25″ x 4.00″ piece from the Festival of Colors 6×6 Paper Pad, apply ATG adhesive to the back of it and attach it to the card base.
  • Use tan woodgrain cardstock to cut one section of the Large Garden Fence and the square section from the Winter Sign.
  • Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the top back of the fence pickets and double stick tape to the back bottom and attach it to the card base.
  • Adhere double stick tape to the back of the cross post, a piece of mounting tape to the extended section of the cross post and attach it to the fence and card base.
  • Use dark brown cardstock to cut the Small Classic Alphabet letters  and attach them to the sign using connect glue.  Note:  I wanted the sign to say Pumpkin Patch but pumpkin just wouldn’t fit.

A pattern from the new Festival of Colors Paper Pad from Rubbernecker serves as the background for this handmade pumpkin patch card.

Grass, Ivy and Pumpkins

  • Use green cardstock to cut two sections of the Classic Grass.
  • Attach one grass section directly to the card base using ATG adhesive.
  • Apply a strip of mounting tape to the back of the second grass section and attach it to the card base.
  • Use white and green cardstock to cut two sections of the Pumpkins and Ivy.
  • Apply Color Fuse Citrus ink over the whole pumpkin bodies using a mini applicator.
  • Add shading and depth of color to the pumpkins by applying Color Fuse Apricot and Pecan inks using mini applicators.

Perfect for any fall occasion, this handmade card with cute die cut pumpkins features a pattern from the new Festival of Colors Paper Pad from Rubbernecker as the hand painted looking background.

  • Tuck the pumpkins in behind the grass and attach in place using pieces of mounting tape.
  • Finish by tucking the ivy section in behind the pumpkins and attach using glossy accents.

The look of hand painted pumpkins on a piece of patterned paper from the new Festival of Colors Paper Pad from Rubbernecker is the perfect background for the die cut details on this handmade fall card.

That’s it! This is an easy card to make and since you can add any sentiment to this project you could use this card for lots of fall occasions. Here are the items from Rubbernecker that I used today:

  1. Thank you, Kittie. This card is precious. The background paper looks hand-stamped! Can you please share where you purchase the woodgrain cardstock you used for the sign and fence? I didn’t see it in your list of recommended papers, but maybe I missed it.
