These orange and black Halloween cards to make are a little spooky and a LOT sweet!
There is something so classic about orange and black Halloween cards to make as little nods to the holiday. This card is just sweet enough to not be creepy but has a couple of spooky elements that give it an adorable shiver. I created the background with Rubberenecker’s new Jack-o-Lantern Stencil and then added die cut details using their Half Tree, Knob Top Fence, Deckle Hills, Jack-o-Lanterns, and Bats and Spiderwebs.
Let me take your through the steps so you can decide how you want to customize this in your own way if you like.
Halloween Card Base
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and a 5.25″ x 4.00″ layer for stenciling.
- Use black cardstock to cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ layer.
- Attach the black layer to the white card base using ATG adhesive.
- Secure the white layer and the Jack-o-Lantern Stencil in place using my Stick and Stamp mat and apply Pumpkin Color Fuse Ink from Set #2 using an ink blending tool.
- Apply ATG adhesive to the back of the stenciled layer and attach it to the card base.
Black Halloween Die Cut Elements
- Use back cardstock to cut the Half Tree x 2, Knob Top Fence x 2, Deckle Hills and Bats x 2.
- Apply a thin section of mounting tape to the back of the tree and a tiny pop dots to the back of a few key spots of the branches and attach it to the card base.
- Apply thin pieces of mounting tape to the back of the fence pickets, line it up the where you want it to stand behind the grass and attach it to the card base.
- Attach one section of the ground section to the card base using a strip of mounting tape.
- Cut branches off the second tree and tuck them in behind the ground section and attach using glossy accents.
- Attach the three bats to the background using glossy accents.
Orange Jack-o-Lanterns
- Use yellow cardstock to cut the pumpkins, black cardstock to cut the face sections and green cardstock for the stems.
- Apply Apricot and Pumpkin Color Fuse Ink to the pumpkins using a mini applicator.
- Attach the face sections and stems to the pumpkins using connect glue.
- Tuck the Jack-o-Lanterns in behind the ground section and attach using pieces of mounting tape.
Cute, right? And pretty easy since the dies are doing most of the work for you! Here’s what you will want to grab from Rubbernecker:
