An Easy Die Cut Valentine Card!

Come see how to make this super easy die cut Valentine card – make a stack and send one to everyone!

I love cards that look like they have SO much happening but are actually simple to make. This easy die cut Valentine card is one of those projects. It’s perfect for batch making so if you need to make a card for everyone in the office, in the group or even in the classroom, this one is perfect. AND you can make it in other colors and use it for non-Valentine occasions for people you want to send a little love to any time.

To make this I used the Letter Full of Flowers die set from Brass & Bliss Craft Co. along with their Nested Scallop with Half Holes, Small Flowers #4, and Flower Stems dies and my own Kittie Says Phrases #1 for the sentiment.

An easy die cut Valentine card with an ornate white layer of a sweet little mailbox and darling tiny red die cut flowers.

Let’s take a look at all the steps and you will see how fast and easy this card is to make.

Card Base and Layers

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base.
  • Use red and white cardstock to cut the two largest die sizes of the Nested Scallop with Half Holes.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the red layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Attach the white layer directly to the red layer using double stick tape.

Lots of details show off on this easy die cut Valentine card made with new goodies from Brass & Bliss Craft Co. for all the layers and the tiny flowers.

Creating the Letter Full of Flowers Element

  • Use white cardstock to cut the Letter Full of Flowers die.
  • Cut the letter portion of the die a second time using red cardstock.

  • Turn the white layer face down, insert the red sections in the openings and secure in place with double stick tape.

  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the letter section.
  • Apply tiny pop dots and small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the flower and leaf sections to hold them secure when place on the base.
  • Turn the die cut face up and attach it to the card base.

Die Cut Flowers and Sentiment Tag

  • Use red cardstock to cut several sections of the Small Flowers #4.
  • Place the flowers face up on the molding pad and push down in the centers using a small tipped stylus.
  • Attach three flower sections together using glossy accents making sure to offset for a natural looking flower.
  • Use green cardstock to cut a section of the Flower Stems set, trim individual leaves off and attach them to the back of the flowers using glossy accents.
  • Attach small white circles to the flower centers using tiny pop dots.  Pro Tip:  I cut the tiny pop dots in half to attach to fit behind the small circles.  Pro Tip: I save the negative circles from cutting eyelet dies to use for flower centers, snowflakes, etc.
  • Secure a thin strip of white cardstock and the sentiment stamp in the MISTI and stamp using Nocturne ink.
  • Trim the sentiment strip, tuck it in behind the flower and attach using a piece of mounting tape.

Classic red and white combine on this easy die cut Valentine card for everything from the layers to the tiny flowers, all from Brass & Bliss Craft Co.

If you wanted to use this idea for this easy die cut Valentine card to make multiples, my recommendation would be to do all your die cutting and make little piles. Then you can assemble the layers, then the ornate Letter Full of Flowers element and then all the little flowers. You can then assembly line style put the cards together – it will go faster than you think!
