You can put this fast and easy handmade wow card together in mere minutes and you can change it up endless ways!
I myself can’t even get over how gorgeous this fast and easy handmade wow card is to make. And one of my favorite things about it is that there are so many ways you can change it up. In fact, here’s another version of this same idea from a couple of years ago and you can see how enduring this design is!
For this variation I used a patterned paper from the Brass and Bliss Modern Floral 6×6 Paper Pad for the background. I set a white die cut Circle Stitch Cover over it as I did with the previous card and then added an embellishment made from their Stackable Flowers and Leaves #2 in white and a color I pulled from the background. I love the pop of fresh clean white against these patterns but other colors look great, too. It just depends on the look you are going for and which pattern paper you choose from all the amazing Brass and Bliss Paper Pad designs.
Now imagine this card with ANY other patterned paper in the back, ANY color die cut cover and ANY die cut motif as the accent. Pop on a sentiment anywhere you like and voila – you’ve got a custom card for any occasion in literal minutes. Let me take you through the making so you can see how truly easy this is to put together.
Card Base and Die Cut Cover Panel
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and the Circle Stitch Cover.
- Cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ designer paper layer from the Modern Floral 6×6 Paper Pad and attach it to the card base using double stick tape.
- Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the cover frame and to several key spots on the circles and attach it to the card base. Pro Tip: It is important to secure the back of the circle section with mounting tape to keep them from collapsing in on the base.
The Simple Die Cut Embellishment of Flower and Leaves
- Use purple and white cardstock to cut the Stackable Flowers and Leaves #2 sections.
- Place the flower layers face down on the molding pad and roll over the petals using a round stylus.
- Place the flower layers face up on the molding pad and push down in the centers using a small tipped stylus.
- Attach the flower layers together using glossy accents, making sure to offset each layer for a natural looking flower.
- Apply glossy accents to the back of the flower and attach it to the card base.
- Gently bend the white leaves with your fingers, tuck them under the flower and attach them using glossy accents.
If you decide to make this card with something other than a dimensional flower, it can be even faster! And with a pattern peeking through and by using coordinating colors for the die cut accent, you create a ton of visual interest with very little effort.
