Floral Themed Garden Card Idea

Check out these simple steps for a Floral Themed Garden Card Idea that you can change up endlessly for TONS of fresh variations!

Today I’m sharing a floral themed garden card idea and am continuing the beautiful spring theme of the new Brass and Bliss Spring Garden Party Release.  I combined the new Wooden Garden Cart, Small Flowers #6, and Spring Garden Stems along with their Sea Kelp, Classic Tabbed Grass, Grass #2, Tiny Flowers #2, Small Butterflies, and Arch Trellis to make this beautifully detailed yet easy card. I set my little scene on a layer cut with the incredibly versatile Nested Rectangle with Square Holes.

Use this pretty floral themed garden card idea to make special cards for family and friends.

Card Base and Grass

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and the Nested Rectangle with Square Holes.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the rectangle layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Cut two Classic Tabbed Grass using green cardstock.
  • Use the Nested Rectangle with Square Holes two cut the bottoms of the grass sections so they will match up with the white layer.
  • Apply double stick tape to the back of one grass layer, line up the holes and attach it to the white layer.
  • Apply a strip of mounting tape to the back of the second grass layer and attach it to the white layer.

The Arch Trellis and Flowers

  • Use white cardstock to cut the Arch Trellis.
  • Use green cardstock to cut several sections of the Sea Kelp and pink cardstock to cut the Tiny Flowers #2.
  • Adhere the Sea Kelp stems all the way around the trellis using glossy accents.
  • Place the tiny flowers face up on the molding pad, push down in the centers with a tiny tipped stylus and attach them to the green foliage using glossy accents.  Pro Tip:  Form the flowers adds lots of dimension and interest to the project.
  • Apply thin strips of mounting tape to the back of the trellis, tuck it in behind the grass and attach it to the card base.

The Wooden Garden Cart and Flower Stems

  • Use woodgrain and black cardstock to cut the Wooden Garden Card.
  • Apply Color Fuse Caramel ink to the wood card slats and Pecan ink to the cart base using mini applicators.
  • Attach the card to the black wheel using glossy accents.
  • Cut a couple sets of the Spring Garden Stems using green cardstock and pink cardstock to cut the Small Flowers #6.
  • Place the small flowers face up on the molding pad and push down in the centers using a small tipped stylus.
  • Attach the flowers to the stems using glossy accents.
  • Randomly attach the stems of flowers to the back of the cart using glossy accents.  Attach extra flowers to fill in as necessary.
  • Apply a piece of mounting tape to the back of the cart and attach it to the card base.
  • Cut Small Butterflies using pink cardstock and attach them to the card base using glossy accents.
  • Finish by attaching tiny white circles to the butterflies and flower centers using glossy accents.  Pro Tip:  I save all the negative circles from cutting eyelet dies to use for flower centers, falling snow, etc.
