Wood Plank Panel

I am totally in love with the new Wood Plank Panel and Wood Planks dies! These gorgeously textured elements can stand on their own, as shown here in white, or used to create a gorgeous faux wood look with just one spin in the machine. I combined it with the new Spring Flowers and Open Greenery #2 dies and added three tiny creatures made with the Small Butterflies die set. A sentiment from the brand new Always Peony stamp set completes this fast and easy card.

A wood plank panel that highlights the colorful flowers and butterflies.

Card Base and Wood Plank Panel

  • Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base.
  • Use white cardstock to cut the Wood Plank Panel and Wood Planks.
  • Apply strips of mounting tape to the back of the panel and attach it to the card base.
  • Insert the wood plank and sentiment in the MISTI and stamp using Nocturne ink.  Set it aside.

A pretty wood plank panel with colorful images and a thinking of you always sentiment.

The Flower, Open Greenery and Butterflies

  • Cut the Spring Flowers and Small Butterflies using white cardstock.
  • Use a mini applicator to apply Bubblegum ink to the flower section centers and butterfly centers.

  • Apply Color Fuse Blush ink to cover the whole flower sections and butterflies using a mini applicator.
  • Apply Custard ink to the round flower center.

  • Form the petals using needle nose pliers.
  • Place the flower sections on the molding pad and push down in the centers using a medium sized round stylus.
  • Attach the flower sections together using glossy accents and make sure to offset each layer for a natural appearance.

Assemble and Attach the Greenery, Flower and Butterflies

  • Use green cardstock to cut the Open Greenery #2 section, apply touches of glossy accents to a few key spots on the stems and attach it to the card base.  Leave the leaves free to stand away from the background.
  • Apply a generous amount of glossy accents to the back of the flower and attach it to the greenery and background.
  • Attach the flower center using glossy accents.
  • Apply a strip of mounting tape to the back of the wood plank sentiment layer and attach it to the card base.
  • Attach the three butterflies to the base using glossy accents.
  • Finish by adding a touch of sparkly to the butterflies with clear gems to the center of each butterfly.

The white wood plank panel adds the perfect touch of dimension and interest to this thinking of you card.

  1. Beautiful card! Love the wood plan die. You may already be aware, the sentiment strip has a misspelled word. I’m assuming the company is working on that.
