Come see how to make a winter holiday scene card to create something special for the holidays.
My project today is to celebrate Christmas in July and to show how to make a winter holiday scene card. There are lots of fun details but it is far easier to put together than you think. I love using white on all white main images with the addition of small pops of color for contrast. Don’t you just adore the little red truck and Christmas tree! I used the newly released Brass and Bliss Town Scape and Winter Town Accessories die sets paired with Deckle Hills, Greenery #1 and Splatter Background.
Card Base
- Use white cardstock to cut an A2 sized card base and three Deckle Hills sections.
- Cut a 5.50″ x 4.25″ layer of medium blue cardstock.
- Secure the Splatter Background and blue layer in the MISIT, apply white pigment ink and stamp the background snow.
- Apply white embossing powder over the stamped blue layer and heat emboss.
- Attach the blue snow layer to the card base using using double stick tape.
- Trim the three snow layers to 4.25″ wide and about 1.50″ deep.
- Attach the back and second snow layers to the card base using double stick tape along the back bottom and sides.
- Apply a strip of mounting tape to the front snow layer and attach it to the card base.
Houses and Decorative Embellishments
- Cut the Town Scape sections and Winter Town Accessories roof sections using white cardstock.
- Apply connect glue to the back of the snowy roof sections and attach them to the house tops. Note: I used a tiny strip of rolled up double stick tape to attach the larger snowy roof layer.
- Attach the windows and doors to the houses using connect glue.
- Snip off tiny Greenery #1 sections and punched out tiny red circles and attach them to the doors with connect glue.
- Apply yellow stickles to the windows and red stickles to the red circles and set the houses aside to dry.
Winter Accessories
- Use black cardstock to cut the Santa silhouette and lampposts and yellow cardstock to cut the lamp flames
- Attach the lamp posts and flames together using connect glue.
- Apply yellow sticks to the lamp post flames and set them aside to dry.
- Cut the trees using green cardstock and the tiny truck sections using red and black cardstock.
- Attach the fender section to the truck using rolled up strips of double stick tape.
- Run all the trees through the straight crimper to add dimension.
- Attach a small tree to the back of the truck using a small piece of double stick tape. Pro Tip: I cut a very thin strip of red cardstock, ran it through my fingers to soften and then tied a tiny red bow, attached the loops together with connect glue and attached it to the tree in the truck.
Assemble the Scene
- Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the houses, tuck them in behind the snow layers and attach in place.
- Tuck the trees in behind the snow layers and attach with small pieces of mounting tape.
- Apply connect glue to the lower back section of the lampposts, tuck them in behind the snow layers and secure in place.
- Apply a small piece of mounting tape to the back of the truck and attach it to the front snow layer.
- Finish the scene by attaching small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the Santa silhouette sections and attach it in the sky area.

And here are all the other things from my stash that I used today.
There’s something very serene about this project! One of the great things about winter holiday scene card ideas like this one is that it truly is very flexible. You can add or change any of the elements to customize it to the any season or occasion. And of course, adding a little sentiment inside can give it a specific purpose. How would YOU use this card idea?
This card is TERRIFIC!
The tiny details really make a huge impact!
I want the same look, but I do not have the patience, dexterity or eyesight! 🙂
This looks like Christmas Eve. So pretty to enjoy on this hot July day. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
