There is something special about skate themed cards for the winter holidays. I love the soft pink and green floral embellishment and brown cover background. I used the new Ice Skates paired with the Wood Plank Panel, Build a Bloom Poinsettia #4, Pine Bough, Wreath Set, Spring Garden Starter, Poinsettia Elegance and Poinsettia Elegance Coordinating Die.
Cover and Holiday Skates
- Cut the cover die using light brown cardstock and attach to the card base using double stick tape.
- Use white, pink, green, brown and gray cardstock to cut the skate sections.
- Assemble and attach the sections together using Nuvo glue. Pro Tip: The Nuvo glue is great for attaching small pieces like the laces and eyelets because it dries totally clear.
- Use pieces of mounting tape to attach the skates to the card base.
Poinsettia Arrangement
- Use light pink, green and yellow cardstock to cut the poinsettia sections.
- Gently bend the petals of the poinsettia petals and green foliage using your fingers.
- Attach the sections together using glossy accents. Use Nuvo glue to attach the yellow centers. Pro Tip: I use glossy accents to attach larger flower sections together because of its strong hold.
- Use glossy accents to attach the poinsettia to the card base.
- Use green and pink cardstock to cut the branch sections.
- Tuck the branches under and around the poinsettia and attach them using glossy accents.
- Check out one of my YouTube video showing how to tuck foliage branches under the poinsettia.
- Stamp the sentiment with brown ink, cut it out with the coordinating die and attach it to the skates using a strip of mounting tape.
