Bright Colors with No Coloring

Save time by making a bright colorful card with no coloring.  This tropical card was made using bright colored cardstock.

We all love to color our die cuts and stamped images.  Some of us are better at it than others.  Sometimes I find it lots easier to create a card just using colored cardstock.  Today I’m sharing this bright tropical card using the new Brass and Bliss Palm Frond Cover paired with Build a Clematis and Tropical Birds and Leaves.

Make this colorful card with no coloring techniquesDie Cut the Elements

  • Cut all the elements using the colored cardstock of your choice with no coloring necessary.  Pro Tip: Using different shades of green for the foliage adds brightness and interest.
  • Form the flower petals with your fingers to add dimension and a natural appearance.
  • Form the flower centers using a large stylus and molding pad and attach them to the flowers.

Create the Scene

  • Apply double stick tape around the back of the frond cover and a few glue dots to a few key fronds and attach to the card base.
  • Adhere pieces of mounting tape to to the back of the body and head of the flamingo and attach to the card base.  Pro Tip:  I attached the feet of the flamingo with glue so it would be flat for arranging the flowers and leaves.
  • Attach the three flowers to the card base using glossy accents.
  • Tuck the laves and sprigs under and around the flowers and attach with glossy accents.  Pro Tip:  I attach the flowers first so I see how I want to arrange the leaves for a natural looking arrangement.
