Fence Background for Scene Cards

Create a fence background to highlight your scene cards.

Today I’m sharing this pretty beach themed card using the new Brass and Bliss Large Beach Bag and Accessories set.  I created the perfect background using the Large Garden Fence along with the  Tropical Birds and Leaves ,Grass #2, Seaweed and Coral, Sunlit Blossoms, Tiny Flowers #2. Deckle Hills, Spring Garden Starter.

Fence Background and Sand Layer

  • Use white cardstock to cut a 5.00″ x 7.00″ card base.  Pro Tip:  I like to use white as the base color to highlight the colorful images.  This would also have been pretty if I had added alight blue background.
  • Cut the three large fence sections using tan cardstock and apply brown ink to the sections using a wet baby wipe. This is a fast and easy way to apply ink to larger die cuts.
  • Attach the fence sections together using glossy accents and trim to fit across the card base.
  • Trim across the fence pickets with deckle scissors to create a more natural beach fence.
  • Apply small pieces of mounting tape to the top back sections of the fence and double stick tape to the bottom back of the fence and attach it to the card base to create the fence background.
  • Use a deckle hill die to cut a tan sand layer and apply light brown ink using a wet baby wipe.
  • Attach a strip of mounting tape to the back of the sand layer and attach it  to the front of the fence.

Die Cut the Scene Elements

  • Use colorful cardstock of your choice to cut the beach bag and accessory sections.
  • Assemble and attach the sections together using Nuvo glue.  Pro Tip:  Nuvo glue is perfect to attach small pieces together because it dries perfectly clear in case some of the glue squeezes out.
  • Cut the tiny flowers and foliage pieces and attach them to the the beach bag and accessories.
  • Use small pieces of mounting tape to the back of the images and attach them to the  fence and sand layers.
  • Use green foliage sections and tuck them i behind the fence and sand layer using Nuvo glue.
