Today is the Featured Stamper challenge on Splitcoaststampers. Our inspiration artist is #1artist4highhopes…aka Crissy. Crissy has a gallery full of darling cards but the one below I found very intriguing. The subject matter of her card is very sweet but I most loved the simple layout that had so many little added details for interest. I copied the layout totally with the exception that I don’t have her darling little corner heart punch. I substituted with a square steps corner punch instead.
I chose to use images from Feathered Hope for the second day in a row. Yesterday I used s the swag and birds in all white on brocade blue for the inspiration challenge. Today I wanted to use them again and paint them with my Ranger Adirondack Dye inks. These image colors so beautifully and are so simple and elegant that they can stand alone without much around them. I added some extra pine needles with my artist pen to fill in and make just a little larger branch and bow for the birds to be sitting on. The details of the tabs, scored borders and piercing just made a perfectly wonderful addition. I used Denami Designs (www.denamidesigns.com) pine sprig for the image on the card base and then used a sponge with cranberry ink to add some depth to both the base and the image layer. I distressed the cranberry layer behind the main image and the tabs for a little added interest since the bird and swag are very old vintage looking to me. I used Martha Steward ball point glue pen and Dazzling Diamond glitter to add sparkle to the berries, greenery and pine. I dipped my brads in versa and then embossed with gold embossing powder and again with iridescent ice. The brads still didn’t sparkle enough for me so I added Stickle glitter glue to them as well. The perfect ribbon to ad was metallic gold. This was a treat to do and I appreciate Crissy’s inspirational layout.

Oh, Kittie, this is just absolutely gorgeous!! I just love it!!!
I had never seen Crissy’s card before and found it to be sooo cute. It brought a smile to my face as soon as I saw it.
Two wonderful cards!
Both are lovely cards. Those punched corners really added that extra something to both cards. Thanks for sharing and for the inspiration.
Oh my, Kittie, you never cease to amaze me. I will seriously pay your way to my house to give me a private lesson. How far are you from Washington DC and would you like to meet the Prez?? Ha ha, can’t promise that part. You have more talent than is fair!@!
These cards are both fantastic. I love the pink one the most. It is such a cute stamp. I really like this lay out and I may have to give it a whirl. Thanks for sharing. Have a Merry Christmas
