Gully & Goldy

The Ways to Use It challenge today on Splitcoaststampers was to use embossing powder. I love to make beach scenes and make them sparkle with versa and Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  I chose Gully & Goldy from Rubbernecker-Fishy Fishy.  I stamped the image twice with Brilliance Black and heat set.  I used a large dry watercolor brush brushed directly on the ink pad and to apply the sand and water using a stipple motion. I  painted the images and then cut the second bird and fish out to pop up and set aside.  I sponged the sky in with a light layer of aqua ink and added a little yellow. I used Liquid Applique to create sea foam in a thin layer and then patted with my finger tips to remove blobs and then heated.  I sponged my versa pad lightly directly on the paper and then lightly poured a small mount of Iridescent Ice powder over the scene and heated.  I popped the fish and bird up on the scene with glue dots and mounting tape.  I stamped the sentiment with aqua ink and embossed with clear embossing powder. I love that the Adirondack Dye inks are so juicy that they can be used to heat emboss. I added some grosgrain ribbon and hung the sentiment with plain old string.  Fun, fun, fun image to play with.

  1. I am a big fan of yours! I love this card. I tried to order a few rubber necker stamps last week but can’t because the security code on the back of my credit card is worn. LOL! I love your blog!

  4. Kittie it never ceases to amaze me at how you can take a couple of small images and create these fabulous scenes. I love this one. Gully looks just as annoying (and annoyed maybe) as gulls can be on the beach. Another Kittie wonder!
