The Technique Lover’s challenge on Splitcoaststampers today was to make Dahlia Fold ornaments on a card front. This technique is to take paper circles to create a medallion or flower with eight pieces.  I’m not so into making big flower types of cards so I cheated a little bit and made flowers with three sections each instead of one big one.  I have just received the Mr. Garden Bunny image from Rubbernecker’s Easter collection and thought he would look darling with his big pot and three big flowers growing in the garden around him.  I stamped the bunny image and painted with Adirondack Dye reinkers. I painted a large piece of watercolor paper with Distress Ink to create the grassy bottom and the flower stems and leaves.  I applied the stems and then attached the three section Dahlia Fold pieces to each to create a flower.  I cut little pieces of the painted green paper to the base of the flower to make them look completed.  I cut the little grass sprigs base and popped it up on mounting tape along the bottom.  I attached the little gingham knot to the main layer and then attached to the card base.  I liked the card but thought it was a little drab so I pulled out my Stickles and put it every where to create a little sparkle.
