Today is the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS and our featured artist is BeckyTE. Click on this link to see the card that inspired me. I love any shade of olive and aqua together and decided to use a piece of PaperTrey designer paper for the base layer of my card. I wanted to use the Rubbernecker Garden Collection Dragonfly for the main image and to create a floral background with the Hydrangea Bloom and Leaf Sprig. I ink the flower with Adirondack Aqua ink and then dipped a blender pen into Adirondack Willow reinker and painted over the flower stem area and stamped on my crisp white cardstock. I repeated this until I had a full background created. I used the blender pen again dipping into the Willow reinker and painting directly on one leaf of the three leaf sprig to create a leaf pattern on the flower. When I was through I used the blender pen dipped in Aqua to add a little color to each flower without totally painting in. I wanted the flower to show well but still be light and airy. I stamped the dragonfly with Brilliance Graphite and heat set. I watercolor the image with a brush and both Aqua and Willow reinker. Very fast and very simple main focal image. I used my paper piercing template to duplicate the piercing on the inspiration card since I don’t have the gorgeous template she used. I still like the effect the simple pattern has. I used both oval punches to create a tag for my sentiment. I taped off all the words on this sentiment image so that only Happiness would be inked and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. One of my favorite things about the Adirondack Dye inks is that they are so juicy that they stay wet long enough to emboss with. I assembled my card and used the matching Papertrey grosgrain for my embellishment. This is a very simple card but I love the clean, crisp look of it.
