“Merci” Blog Candy

We all love blog candy.  Well I know I sure do. I have an extra Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration "Merci" set and thought one of you might really enjoy having it. You can see the images in the picture below. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me what you think of the horizontal stripes on the bathing beauty in my beach scene card in the Seaside Charm article below.  You can also tell me if you wear any kind of stripes or flowers on your bathing suit or if you are like me and stick to solid colors. It’s all good for a laugh and you can win a free stamp set in the process.  Oh…and there may be other goodies in the package as well. You can leave comments up until I get my first cup of coffee on Monday morning (about 5:00) and I will go to http://www.random.org/ to pick a winner.

Merci

  1. bathing suit? um, yeah. I stick to jeans and tee shirts all summer. I refuse to wear a bathing suit, but if I have to suck it up and wear one its solid black.
I think the card is absolutely adorable, but vertical stripes probably would be more thinning. LOL! Love all the cards with the chairs scenes. Super cute!

Anyway, I love the 2 colors of the stripes, they seem to go together… but I agree with the above comment… vertical stripes would be better.. lol

  4. Hi Kittie. Maybe I never win on these things ’cause I can’t follow directions. I wondered why no one was telling you about their atrocious bathing suits! I can’t be the only one? Please people tell me I am not! My sad story is on Kittie’s other comment section one down! Duh! Thanks Kittie!

  7. Wow…I am actually in the top 10 (I usually don’t make it till the numbers are up past 100!)…
My bathing suit is a minimizer with slight stripes on the diagonal (white on solid black) to make one look slimmer! After three pregnancies, I need all the help I can get!
And those stripes on your previous card does make her butt look big…ha ha!

  8. Well, I don’t own a bathing suit anymore, after being modelesque thin in my youth and early 20’s, :(. I think the card looks just great, I love seeing the stripes go down into a V shape, it kind of minimizes the look of ‘spread’ across the bottom lol. tee hee… on paper, she is perfect! tfs 🙂 Great stamp set!

  9. Love your card. I would probably switch the strips to go the other way. They say it is more slimming, but what do I know. I ususally wear a solid color and add alittle color and pattern to the wrap or cover up.
Thanks for a chance at this sweet SU set.
    Happy Easter.

  10. My suit is floral on top to emphasis upstairs, and black on hips with a skirt to hide the bottam half:) I planned to wear it this week as I’m vacationing at the Oregon coast. Since they are predicting rain, I’m bringing sweaters and warm clothes and leaving the swimsuit & suntan lotion at home. I’d love to find out that I was your blog candy winner when I return:)

  11. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a striped bathing suit. Except for the ones that have one wide vertical stripe sandwiched between 2 black pieces. They can be very flattering. Thanks for the chance to win this great set!

  12. I have many bathing suits, some solid and some floral but NONE with horizontal stripes! I am in the pool 5 to 10 hours a week so I do own quite A FEW! Have fun Kittie!!!

  13. I personally do not wear stripes–my bathing suit is black with a little color here and there but no stripes. The card is really cute. Reminds me of summer (after the big snowfall we got Friday).

  14. I am currently looking for a bathing suit since my husband just bought a boat. No way would I buy one with stripes like those pictured, even though my butt looks pretty good,my stomach would distort the stripes. Ha! Ha!. I think the stripes on your bathing beauty makes her butt look huge but makes her waist look smaller. Ha!

  15. I love the stripes on this card and love all that you did with it. Nope, no stripes for me – especially not Horizontal ones! TFS

  16. I love the stripes on the bathing suit and think the lady has a wonderful figure. The colors are wonderful too.
I do not wear stripes on my bathing suit, and do not think I ever did. In fact, I do not own a bathing suit now–pretty sad since we live within 3 miles of 3 lakes.

  17. well I think the stripes work fine on your card, but I would never wear them! I don’t wear a bathing suit. I usually get in the pool in shorts and a t shirt.
great blog candy and I’d love to win it!

  18. You are funny Kittie………..IF I was shaped like the lady in the picture, I would certainly wear the horizontal stripes………..LOL She wears them well.
Your card is fun with the bright summery colors………one can only wish for winter to pass.
If I were to wear a swimsuit……it would be a ONE PIECE and likely bright summery flowers…….I AM at least that brave.
I love your work……..I shall try a scene one of these days. You make it look sooooooo easy.

  19. First let me say how incredible this card is…your scenic cards never cease to amaze me. Your little bathing beauty actually looks pretty good in the stripes, although for most of us that would be a Glamour Don’t! No stripes for me…I’m a solid kinda gal!

  20. I haven’t worn a swimsuit in at least 40 years, but if I looked like your lady, I’d wear it stripes and all! I love your card, I don’t think you could make something I didn’t adore! Happy Easter! 😀

  21. I love a girl who isn’t afraid to wear horizontal stripes on her suit! LOL! I haven’t worn a suit in years…I’m too chicken…so I can’t tell you what mine looks like! tee hee Love your card!!! Thanks for the chance~

  22. I don’t wear stripes just solid colors like black if I do wear a bathing suit. I do love your card and the stripes set it off, matching the swim ring. All your cards tell a story, and are beautifully done.

  23. Your beach card is so fun! You are such an inspiration to us! Now, for the bathing suite…I quit wearing bathing suites a while ago. But, I would NOT wear stripes on my bathing suite…especially on my big butt!

  24. Your bathing beauty looks great in her striped suit — accents her nicely curved derriere. I’m sure all the boys on the beach are checking her out. I don’t do stripes on my bathing suits, but right now I do have a black Land’s End suit that is has small white polka dots on it that I just love.

  25. I loved your card when I first seen it on SCS-made me chuckle at your comment. I try to stay away from horizontal stripes but I do like small verticle stripes-especially blue and white on shirts. Seldom wear a bathing suit anymore but like solids.
Thanks for the chance for the candy-just like Easter!

  26. OMG, what a great card that is. Worth all the time it took to cut the pieces. She looks very curvy in that striped bathing suit. Curvy is not the word that comes to mind when you see me in a striped bathing suit. I wear a solid suit and put on swimming shorts as soon as I get out of the water. If I walk on the beach it is in swimming shorts and a bathing suit top. All this talk of the bathing suits makes me want to go to the beach. Is it summer yet? I guess we have to wait for spring first.

  27. I LOVE the stripes on her; however, Me NO WAY! I prefer something that doesn’t enhance my already “pleasantly plump” backside….LOL!! Thanks for sharing.

  29. I love stripes! Your bathing beauty looks quite happy in her horizontals . . . of course, there’s no one else in the picture, so maybe she’s not as bold as she looks!

  30. The stripes are very cute – on her! I don’t do horizontal stripes at all – try to keep things solid on that bottom half, anything to minimize my size!!
    Thanks for the chance!

  33. I really like your card AND the stripes on the bathing suit. Of course, I myself probably wouldn’t wear that suit….as DS points out….my “bottom” is large enough without being accentuated.

  34. Happy Easter! I have to tell you that you inspire me so much with your wonderful art. You are so creative. I love checking out your blog daily and SCS.
Your card with the bathing suit is so cute. I have a striped one and the stripes go at an angle. Course I don’t wear it much cause I am afraid I will scare everyone off with the shape I have been blessed with the last year or two.

  35. I love the whimsical look of “Merci”. I am particularly fond of the fkower/hearts and bee. As far a swimsuits go, stripes would make me look as big as a house. I love your designs!!!

  36. I do have a swimsuit that is striped on the top… and they are bright stripes. That is one of my favorite suits (and no, I am not a young gal!).

  37. I have two suits; one is solid red (tankini – great for when you need to use the restroom), the other one has an all over floral print. I don’t think stripes would be good for me. TFS and love this sale-a-bration set. I don’t have it so it sure would be nice to win. wink wink 😉

  38. well 2 opinions on the stripes at first I would say I don’t like it. it attracts to much attention to it. but then the second opinion is if thats what you are going for then I would say it worked.

  39. I love the stripes on your card, but personally, it doesn’t matter which way the stripes run, I look better in solids! Thnk you for the chance to win this SAB set that I wasn’t able to obtain. Happy Easter, Kittie!

  40. OMG! I would NEVER wear a bathing suit with horizontal stripes!! Looks like too much junk in the trunk! I wonder if your bathing beauty would lose inches if her suit was flowered! Thanks for all you do in sharing your passion with the rest of us.

  41. I would say it shows off her shape quite well! I have big hips, so I try not to wear stripes any where near my hips, but I do have a black suit with some red flowers on it! Love all your beach cards, gives me hope that sometime soon we will be done with winter! (snowed here today, luckily it didn’t stick, just nice big flakes)

  42. She certainly is “shapely”! I don’t think I would be brave enough to do stripes on my bathing suit (horizontal or vertical!)In fact, all my bathing suits are solid colors (red and black). Thanks for the inspiration!

Your card is amazing…as always!! The stripes do tend to accentuate her bottom…if that’s the look she’s going for. Personally, I couldn’t pull it off!

  44. Honestly, I would not wear horizontal stripes, because it would make my butt look bigger. I usually go for the solid colors or a skirt-type suit to cover up. Although, on a card, I think it totally works. It’s all for the added color to add more pop to the image — so I say in this case — Go for it! 🙂 Kelly

  45. LOL…It nice shows off her curves!!! I do not wear horizontal stripes cuz I like to hide my curves!!! Most of my bathing suits are solid with maybe a lone flower!

  46. I love her stripes! Just the right mount of curves for the beach. I tend to wear a patterned top, the kind that covers everything and a solid bottom. I try not ot wear a suit to be honest. Merci!

  47. Actually, I didn’t even notice the swim suit until I re-read what we were asked to do. I stay away from strips and polka dots for a swimsuit, but your card is wonderful….very 3-Dish! Thanks for the chance to win some great blog bling!

  48. Personally i think they make her butt look fat. Does show of her curves though. I do prefer single colors on it, but the stripes look not too bad all in all.

  49. Kittie, I love the stripes; accents her curves. No, I do not wear stripes anylonger, though I use too and love them. Great card; but I love ALL your cards; wished I could draw as you do.

I love the stripes on the bathing suit; accents her curves. I do not wear stripes much any more; though I use too and loved them. Kittie, I love your card, but I love ALL of your cards; you are a great artist – you should be painting and selling your prints for framing.
