Another Long Card

The Sketch Challenge on SCS today was to make a long card with a bit of a twist. To fold back a portion of the top layer to show the inside of the card and to add an oval layer.  Fun challenge.  I decided to use a flower image from Rubbernecker Stamp Company KK Originals.  I stamped the image with Brilliance Black and watercolored with a brush and reinkers.  I added a touch of craft chocolate chip to the flower center, craft olive to the leaves and versa to the flower petals and embossed with clear embossing.  The embossing added so much to the images but I don’t think they show in the photo. This card is very straight forward and doesn’t require much explanation. My favorite thing about it is the soft eyelet scalloped trim that I created with my decorative scissors and a needle.  I love the contrast with the dark chocolate brown and the white, crisp cardstock.  The scalloped mustard layer under the image and the mustard ribbon is just the perfect touch.

  1. Kittie, this is absolutely SWEET! I love the lacy feel of all the scallops and paper piercing you did. The airbrushed background on the oval is so soft and adds just the right touch. And the bow..such a lovely touch! Great card. TFS
