More Fun In The Sun

The Color Challenge today on SCS is to use Basic Black, Pomegranate and Soft Sky.  I had to give this one quite a bit of thought.  I finally decided to play with more Beach Party images from Rubbernecker Stamp Company. I have looked at these huge sunglasses for a while and wondered how I could use them. I thought they would be fun exaggerated in front of an ocean scene.  I thought the umbrella would add another fun dimension to the scene and that the sentiment needed to be stamped directly onto the sky area.  I thought a layered sentiment with these big images would be over powering.

I stamped the sunglasses and umbrella with black craft ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  I watercolored the images with a brush and reinkers.  I stamped an extra pair of flowers to pop up for a little more fun dimension.  I sponged on the sand, ocean and sky with a large sponge dauber using caramel and soft sky.  I used the small sand dune image to add a little texture and markers to create the little sea oats. I popped the umbrella up with mounting tape and then applied the sunglasses with glue dots that were rolled up just a little to pop. These are not my favorite colors together but the card turned out much cuter than I expected.
