The Limited Supply Challenge on SCS today was to use alphabet stamps to create the main focal point for our card. I don’t have many alphabet sets as I have sold most of them. I am sort of technically challenged when it comes to using alpha stamps but I still have my heart shaped alpha’s that I thought I could something fun with. I can’t say it really turned out to be my main focus of the card but there are more alpha’s than you will have seen on one of my cards in a long while. I almost didn’t play in the challenge as it was hard to get inspired….but that is when I think we need to keep pushing forward. So I did. Not my best work but it will pass.
I stamped the Elaybell and boy image on watercolor paper, colored and cut out. I chose my color combination from the SU color wheel by using the bordering blue choices. I wanted the boy to have on blue jeans and bordering is such a great color for them. After I got them images painted I realized that none of my color choices really went with heart and that I probably should have used red and all the complimentary colors but…..it was too late now. I sketched out a tree with my artist pen on white cardstock, painted the trunk with reinker and put only a limited amount of greenery on the scene. I wanted the focus to be on the love alphahearts and the initials carved into the tree. They are a cute couple.
