The Inspiration Challenge on SCS today is a link to movie dresses . They were fun to look at. I was not just inspired with the dress worn by Winonna Ryder in Age of Innocence but also the green trees around her. I ended up with a piece far different than I started out with. I had planned to use the muted moss as those colors were part of her her dress collar along with a satin moss bow. I sketched out my evergreen trees with marker in ever so pale moss and lightly sponged the moss ground area around them. The more I worked the more I was displeased with how pale the colors were so I added darker greens to enhance the trees. I used a light grey to create a muted pond of water for the scene. I filled in the ground area with the mini fern and then added some brown texture with the itty bitty background image and a small sponge dauber to add brown earth tone to water's edge and hillside. I added some brown tree trunks and bushes on the hill top and created little trees for the scene. I didn't want to distract from the muted green theme so I did the sky in yellow and adding no blue. I love this scene as it reminds me of my grand father's pond on the property I grew up on . I would like to walk there and put a bamboo rod with a string and hooked worm on it to see if there are any bluegills to catch.
