No Hardware

The Limited Supply Challenge on SCS today was to use no hardware such as brads, rhinestones, ribbons, etc.  We were challenged to use small stamped images as embellishments and that is something I really love to do.  I chose to play with images from the Rubbernecker Beach Party collection since there are so many fun pieces.  I stamped the Adirondack chair, masked it and stamped the fence beside it.  I watercolored the images with a brush and reinker.  I used a large dry brush to stipple on the caramel beach area and then used a sand dune image to add texture. I cut out the chair/sand scene so I could pop it up over the water layer.  I masked off a portion of the white bottom layer with a straight edge t create a calm water line.  I cut out the fence sections with a craft knife.  I stamped the umbrella and small embellishment images on scrap watercolor paper , painted and cut out.  I added the soft sky scalloped border across the bottom of the scene to mimic the scallop border of the umbrella and to use to apply the embellishments.  I popped the umbrella up over the chair to make a fun multi level scene. This was a fun project to create.
