Card Making      Rubbernecker  Blogger & Card Positioning Systems Combine Challenges

Rubbernecker is sponsoring the weekly Card Positioning Systems sketch challenge this week.Rubbernecker -Stamp Oasis line is the stamp line to be used for the challenge. Our RBC16 challenge is to use Grungeboard or Chipboard. We decided it would be fun to combine the two into one project.

Card Positioning System Sketch 71

Sherry and Jeanne have been visiting me as they came to town to work the Rubbernecker Booth at the Orlando Stampfest.  While Sherry was available I decided to take advantage of her wonderful distressing skills and get a step by step lesson on how to use Grungeboard combining it with distressing -Kittie Style. I dabbed the tree and fence stamps with Adirondack Acrylic Lettus and Mushroom paints and stamped directly on the plain Grungeboard. I heated to dry and then sponged white craft ink over the image, cleaning off the excess paint from the tree and fence as I went. I sponged on Distressed Scattered Straw over the tree to high light and then sponged Weathered Blue and Vintage Photo around the borders to add age and character to my scene. I distressed the borders with scissors and sponged ink allong the edges. I stamped the whole scene with SU Sanded background image inked with Vintage Photo.  I love the element of aging this produced. I finished the scene by painting white craft reinker on the fence posts and ground area, stamping snowflakes in white craft ink and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I added the ribbon tabs and snowflakes to represent the three oblong layers of the sketch. I know this is a little project is a little out of season but it is really hot in Florida and I wanted to cool off a little.
