I had fun last night working on two challenge projects. The first was for the Tuesday Color Challenge on Splitcoaststampers to use pink, black and white. I wanted to do a Christmas card with these colors even though they are so untraditional. I looked through all my Rubbernecker holiday images and found this fun and modern tree and that it would be perfect.
I stamped the tree several times on white cardstock with black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder and watercolored with pink reinker. I cut the trees out so I could pop them up on the card front to create dimension. I offset the two bottom trees one to the left and one to the right and put the final tree in the original position. The two bottom tree layers were on attached leaving the outer limb portions unattached and flipped out a little. The top layer was attached with dimensional. I used three different black and white gingham ribbons for this and I love the effect. I finished it with with a tiny Joy sentiment tag.

Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge 5
This week's Blogger Challenge is to use blue, green and brown. I knew the colors would be perfect for me to do a wonderful Christmas card with trees, falling snow and a beautiful blue sky. For some reason I felt inspired to do a fun cowboy project.
I pulled out my Kittie Kits On the Farm set and created a fun scene using the fat little cowboy, fence, sage brush and wagon wheel. I stamped the images with Brilliance Black and watercolored with Distress Weathered Wood, Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint. I stamped a couple extra sage and a wagon wheel to cut out to pop up on the scene. The sky was sponged with Weathered Wood. I sponged a piece of Chocolate Remix Designer Paper from Papertrey for the background layer and used my rice baggy with the brown ink to add a little non descript background images. I used the rice bag along with bottom of the scene as well and also used the sand image from the Kittie Kits Beach Master. I embossed a piece of brown cardstock with a Cuttlebug folder to give the appearance of snake skin and ran the Vintage ink pad directly over it to add depth. I cut the edges of the brown layer with deckle scissors and thought the little left over pieces would look fun along the bottom of the scene and attached the wagon wheel and additional sage. The sentiment is so fitting for this and is from the Little Lovin' kids collection.
