Howdy!

Circles, circles, circles.  The Limited Supply Challenge on SCS was to use circles in our project. We could use circle images, punched circles, circle shaped cards or anything else we could think of that represented a circle.  The only limitation for the challenge was that all stamped images had to be from the same stamp set. I was leaning towards creating a circle framed project and putting my stamped images into a scene on the inside of the card and allowing it to show through the circle hole. As I searched my sets I ran across my Rubbernecker Cowboy set with the large wagon wheels and pudgy cowboy and knew that my circle frame idea would not work so I changed gears.

I stamped the wagon wheels and cowboy on scrap watercolor paper, painted and cut out.  Each spoke of the wheels were cut out with a craft knife. I stamped the fence on my main piece of watercolor paper and painted.  I sponged in the ground area trying to create the appearance of little mountains in the background but the big cowboy hat really covered up that attempt. I sponged in the sky. I attached the images on the card front to create the fun little cartoony scene.  The wagon wheels represent circles even though the image is really oval. Shhhhhh! The lasso represents another circle for the project and my final circle is the –O- in my Howdy sentiment.

Ok…..while I’m at it I thought I would post a couple more projects done in the past with these western themed images.

  1. Great job on all three of your Cowboy cards. I especially love the first one that had to include circles and I LOVE the way you stamped one of the wagon wheels off the card.
