I want to share the projects I was able to make this past week and weekend.
I accidentally stumbled onto the Shadow Box Challenge at Paper Cubed while gallery surfing on SCS and was inspired to create a project around Sarah Kay’s Zoe. I went to the SCS Resources and found a Shadow Box tutorial for directions. I modified my project a little but love how it turned out. I created a scene on both the inside and framed outside layer as well as a center layer using sponges, cloud template, artist pen and my Kittie Kits mini fern image. I stamped Zoe on a separate piece of watercolor paper, painted with a brush and reinkers mixed with water and cut out. I popped the image up on the center layer and mounted that layer onto the back panel of the shadow box with mounting tape. I love how sweet this project turned out.
I love the new Rubbernecker Floral Collection, especially the image that I used for this project. I used olive and pink markers to apply color to the silhouette image, misted with water and stamped on parchment paper. I used a brush to apply watered down reinker to fill in the petals and leaves and then added a darker pink to add depth. The punched border and multi loop bow were the perfect way to finish off this simple card.
I made this darling Stampavie Tina Wenke project for the sketch challenge on SCS. I love the images sitting on their little blanket gazing up at the moon and stars. I masked off a the scalloped square with post it notes to create a white frame and sponged in the sky and grass area. I stamped and painted the images with reinkers and a brush and then cut out to pop up over the main layer. I added glitter for a soft sparkle of embellishment and finished with the bright orange grosgrain bow.
I used the newly released Skyline image from the Rubbernecker Vintage Collection. I stamped the image with Brilliance Chocolate on parchment paper and heat set. I applied a light wash of color to highlight and make the image pop. It was a fun and fast project and I like that there isn’t lots of stuff on the card to distract from the main image.
I hope you all have a great week and are able to have some fun time getting your fingers inky.
