I hope you all had a great weekend. I got lots of rest and had the opportunity to get my fingers inky and create another Christmas card to add to my collection. I used a tree from the Rubbernecker Evergreen Tree set found in the Winter Holiday Collection.
I stamped the tree on vanilla cardstock with black craft ink and heat dried. Using dry brushes wiped directly on the ink pads to gather the ink I used a stipple type brushing motion to add the greens and brown to the tree limbs and trunk. I heat dried each color before moving on to the next to avoid smudging the two colors together. I sponged on light yellow ink around the tree to highlight and heat set. My final step was to apply the snow on the branches using a dry brush with thick white Chinese watercolor paint that had no water added.
Stamps: Rubbernecker Evergreen Tree Set Paper: Vanilla, Olive Ink: Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw Accessories: Grosgrain, Corner Punch, Chinese White Watercolor Paint, Crimper
