Bright and Cheerful Tulips in Gold

I had a great time this evening after work creating a special card to send off to Katie, a young mother and wife who is dealing with some serious health issues. The Teapot Tuesday Challenge today was dedicated to creating cards to send to Katie.

KC Tulips 2

I stamped the image on Prism white paper with versa and embossed with gold embossing powder. I watercolored using a brush and reinkers and while it was still sort of wet I applied gold powder again and heated. The powder stuck to the wet places on the image and added more gold to highlight the beautiful flowers. The border was punched with a set of MS border and corner punches. I really love the soft feminine look to this card and hope it brightens Katie’s day.

Check out my multi loop bow tutorial if you would like to know how I make my bows.  I hope you are having a great week.

  1. So pretty!! Off the topic of this card, but have to tell you that I was inspired by your winter tree scene as well as some other cardmakers on SCS and I finally tried some ink blending to create a scene for a card. I’m so happy with my first try and can’t wait to do some more of them. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work and for all the inspiration you give.
