Wildflowers and Butterflies

Good evening.  I got home in time tonight to play in the Splitcoaststampers Ways To Use It Challenge to use butterflies on our project. I have a little retired Stampin’ Up! butterfly punch that I have only used a few times and thought this was my perfect opportunity to get it out and dust it off. I wanted to create a really simple floral card and pop up a few butterflies. I thought the garden trellis punched border along with the Rubbernecker image from the Wildflowers Collection would be perfect for a clean and simple card. The picture doesn’t show the true Regal Rose color of the flowers and ribbon.

I used Regal Rose and Artichoke markers to color the image and spritzed with water before stamping on the paper. I used a brush filled lightly with Regal Rose and Rose Red reinker to add deeper color and shading.

I am so happy the weekend is almost here.  I hope you have a great weekend. I am looking forward to getting my fingers inky.

Stamps: Rubbernecker Wildflower Collection 496-08
Paper: Papertrey White
Ink: Regal Rose, Rose Red
Accessories: Markers, Spritzer, Butterfly Punch, Martha Stewart Garden Trellis Border Punch, Glossy Accents. Cuttlebug Folder

  2. Very, very pretty!!! I can’t quite get my head into spring/summer cards yet, though. I have collected so many flower and butterfly stamps, punches and dies, but they’ll have to wait a while longer as I’m still loving my snowflake and snowman stuff right now… not to mention Valentine goodies. I have so many birthday and anniversary cards to make in February that I know I’ll be ready for spring things once all that is done.
