Flowers and Cherries

Good morning.  I hope you had a great weekend.  I sure did. One of the physicians I work with took the office staff out for dinner Saturday night and we had a great time. I had to do the normal weekend laundry and cooking for the week but I also got got to make a couple of cards for Splitcoaststampers challenges.

My first project was made using a Poppies image from the  Rubbernecker Bold Florals Collection.

I stamped the image with versa on watercolor paper and embossed with gold embossing powder.  I painted the image using reinkers mixed with water and then cut it out to pop up over the dotted embossed background,  I thought the fluffy multi loop bow was the perfect finishing touch.

For my second project I used a Stampavie Gillian Roberts image called Picking Cherries.

I created the quilted background by cutting one inch squares of different designer paper and attaching them to a piece of scrap cardstock.  I stamped the image with black versafine and painted with reinkers mixed with water.  I stamped a few extra clumps of cherries to cut and pop up over the original image to add a little dimension.  I attached the ribbon to the quilted layer and then attached to a white card base.

I hope you have a great week.  I can hardly believe we are already in the middle of January.  Time seems to fly by so fast.

  1. Gorgeous!!! I love both of them, but those poppies are just totally stunning! The softness of the pink with the gold is very striking! I really love what you do with the reinkers. I must give this a try on something other than my scenic cards!
