Good Wednesday morning. I have two SCS challenge projects to share with you today. The Teapot Tuesday challenge this week was to feature baby images for twins and to honor our friend and new grandma Kokirose-aka Patricia Rose. I used one of my favorite baby images called Nursery from the Rubbernecker Baby Collection.
I stamped the image on watercolor paper and stamped the baby section of the image a second time on scrap paper. I watercolored both images using a brush and reinkers and then cut the second baby out and popped up in front of the original baby in the nursery scene. I love framing in scenes with a double matted frame and it seemed like the perfect finishing touch to layer it over the white scalloped background with a sweet soft white multi loop bow.
Here is a closer look.
My second card was created for the Monday Clean and Simple challenge to use a flourish image somewhere on our project. I don’t use flourishes much in my style of stamping. I decided to use one of the images from the Rubbernecker Flourish Inchies set to create ocean waves.
I stamped the image repeatedly across a piece of watercolor paper and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I sponged the same blue color over the waves to create the ocean blue and then cut out the top of a row flourishes to create the rolling wave. I placed my little sailboat right in behind the first wave layer and then placed the row that I cut off in the back of the boat for added dimension. I sponged a little blue on white paper, embossed and then cut out clouds using scalloped scissors and popped them up in the little scene. I placed the little scene layer over the plain white background with red ribbon for the clean and simple look.
I hope your week is going well. It is hump day and the weekend isn’t that far off.

Absolutely adorable baby card Kittie, so adorable!
OMGoodness…this nursery scene is out of this world! I just LOVE it to pieces! Somehow I missed seeing it on SCS – what a special card!
Kittie that twin card is TOO MUCH! I love it! Especially how they are all tucked in that cute little window on the card! The flourishy waves on the boat card are amazing!
I think that CAS is another catagory you can add to your accomplisments! Love your clever use of the flourish
So cute baby card! I love it!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh …. the sweetness of this “twins” creation! “Almost” makes one wish for doubles … but I’m more than happy with the “singles”! lol
Love the way you’ve turned the flourishes into wonderful waves for this fun challenge, Kittie!
(((hugs))))
