Lynette’s Garden

Good morning and happy Friday!  The weekend is almost here and I am looking forward to restful time being home from work with my husband. I woke up an hour before my alarm went off this morning so I decided to enjoy a few minutes of fun stamping time.

My project is for the Splitcoaststampers Friday Free For All Challenge  “Two by Two”. The challenge is to use two identical things on the card front.  It could be two flowers, buttons, images, etc.  I chose to use two identical all white punched floral borders to highlight a colorful image.

I stamped the image, watercolored and cut out using snips and a craft knife.  I punched the borders, crimped and attached them on the all white base card using mounting tape.  I mounted the girl and garden image with glue dots and mounting tape. I think the stark, all white background and borders makes the colorful image pop even brighter than if I had created a sky and scenery background.  Here’s a closer view.

  1. Beautiful card!! Your watercoloring always amazes me. I haven’t had a chance to try watercoloring yet… I can get to my reinkers, but my stamps and brushes are packed away and too hard to get to right now. Hubby’s work on my craft area has had some delays and I just want to stamp and color and make cards!!! LOL!!!

  2. Beautiful! The stamp is so lovely, I never see those here in NZ, or where I live anyway. I love the white punched borders.
