Hot Labor Day With Cold Winter Scene

I hope you are enjoying your Labor Day Holiday.  It is so nice to have the day off from work. The laundry is still out by the washing machine and there is still all the meal preparations to do that I do for evening work night meals  but I am going to enjoy some stamping time before I get to work.  My project today is an old fashioned wintery holiday scene with snow on the trees and hauling the Christmas tree home in the old pick-up truck.  I used the tree and truck image found in the new Kittie Kits Fall Harvest set that will be released at Rubbernecker Stamps tomorrow.

The trees were stamped on white cardstock, colored with a Promarker and faint blue was sponged in the sky area and light brown was applied to the ground.  The truck was stamped on watercolor paper, painted with reinkers and cut out. I heat set the ink on the scene and truck and then dusted with my embossing buddy to keep embossing powder from sticking where I don’t want it.  I painted white craft ink in the tree limbs , on the ground area and truck and then embossed with white embossing powder.  I stamped the Christmas tree, painted and cut.  Using my craft knife I cut a slit on the bed of the truck and inserted the tree.  I mounted the truck on the scene and finished by adding red ribbon to the corners and to the tree. Here are a couple other views.
