Good Sunday morning. I love creating matted frames for my projects. Not only does it add dimension but can draw attention to and emphasize an image. For my project today I have used a triple mat to show off a lovely but simple Olive Branch image from Rubbernecker’s newly released Floral Square set.
I started by inking up one of the square images with Antique Linen Distress Ink and stamping on Vanilla cardstock. I colored the image on the stamp using Peeled Paint and Vintage Photo Distress Markers, misted lightly and stamped it the square image. Using a slightly wet brush I painted over the image lightly with reinkers mixed with water to add depth of color.
I created my matted frame using Chocolate Chip and vanilla cardstock, I applied mounting tape to the back of the frame and mounted it over the image on the card base. You can check out my double matted frame tutorial if you would like to see step by step photos of how I make my frames.
I stamped the sentiment from the new Phrase set, one of the newly released sentiment sets in the 2012 release section, with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder to add more definition. Did you know that Distress Ink remains wet long enough to emboss with it? It allows you to have matched embossing for every color. I love that.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by.
