Rolled Rose Floral Spray

Good Thursday morning.  I hope you had a wonderful holiday.  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge.

Have I told you how much I love the My Favorite Things Rolled Roses and how much I love white on white? Here’s what I came up with.

I layered the heart circle on the card base with mounting tape. I created a double matted frame on the heart rectangle and attached the rectangle with another layer of mounting tape.

These rolled roses are so precious and so easy to make. I rolled three different size bright red flowers and cut several pieces of foliage to create the floral spray.  I distressed the back of the foliage with a stylus before arranging it on the card so it would have a more natural appearance. I always lay out my foliage and flowers on the card front before I attach to be sure how I want to arrange them.

I attached the largest pieces of foliage first and then attached the three larger roses.  I arranged cut pieces of the leafy flourish and punched fern arranged around the roses to add fullness and softness to the spray. I placed the tiny roses last for the perfect finishing touch.

If you would like to see how I make my matted frame  and flower spray  you can check out my tutorials on the right side of my home page.  Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a great day.

  1. Hi Kittie,
Your card, as usual, is spectacular. I love the rolled roses. I was wondering how you create the natural curl of the petals on the roses? Do you just shape them with your fingers or do you use a tool?

  3. Kittie, I love your roses, I have the same dies, but my roses never come out as beautiful as yours, how do you do that? Is the paper matters to forming the shape or how do you place the flower on the end of the die? Or does the tool you use to roll the flower makes any difference? I am disappointed with my flowers made out of the same dies, what kind of tips you can give me? I appreciate if you can reveal your technique in a video form, thanks.
