Woodland Christmas

Good Saturday morning.  I love making nature winter scenes for my Christmas cards . The Rubbernecker Pine Tree paired with the Memory Box Tall Birch and Leaping Deer dies gave me the perfect tools to create a woodland wonderland.

I sponged the clouds on the base of the scene and stamped the trees over the clouds to create the backdrop of the tall birch. I really like seeing the pine trees peeking out from behind the die cut trees.

I die cut several birch trees and stippled on grey ink around the tree notches and branches to give a more natural look.  I die cut the deer and sponged brown over the body and darker brown over the nose, antlers and hooves. I cut a snowy border using deckle scissors and crimped it with my wavy crimper.

I attached the snowy ground border to the scene, attached the scene layer to the card base and then mounted the frame over with mounting tape. I tucked the trees in behind the snowy ground and in front of and behind the frame. I attached the deer with rolled up glue dots and attached the festive red bow and pine sprigs for the finishing touch.
