Tattered Poinsettia

Good Saturday morning.  I love making poinsettia Christmas cards and today I have used the Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia. I paired the poinsettia with a lovely poinsettia pattern designer paper from Tina Wenke.

I created a double matted frame using both sections of the designer paper. I attached the coordinating papers to a piece of cardstock to create a sturdy base and then cut the frame openings.  I mounted on the care base with mounting tape.

I cut the poinsettia out of the coordinating red paper, distressed the back of the petals and attached each layer of the flower together with a small piece of mounting tape. I attached the flower to the frame base with glossy accents. I cut another large layer of the poinsettia using artichoke cardstock to create the poinsettia foliage tucked them in under the red petals and attached using glossy accents.

I attached several pine sprigs cut with the Twig Wreath set to add softness around the flower. I thought a little red ribbon and a big white pearl would be the perfect finish.KC Sizzix Tattered Poinsettia 1 left

Have a great Saturday and thank you for stopping by.

  1. Hi Kitty, I read your blog everyday. You create some of the prettiest cards I’ve seen. Each one is a work of art. I have copied some of them successfully and some not so. Just wanted you to know that your blog is the first one at look at in the morning. Thank you for sharing your cards with us.
