Good Sunday morning. I am sharing a card today that is very similar to the tag I made for Ellen Hutson’s 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist. You can find my step by step tutorial here if you would like to check out the details.
I am so intrigued by the Deer Trio set. We normally think of deer dies or stamped images to use on masculine cards. But there is something so soft and graceful to me about these. I love the all white scene with the only color being the soft aqua in the background.
I thought a grouping of the tall birch would be a perfect setting for the deer family. It is always fun to add depth to a scene by adding layers of ground snow. The branches add another element of dimension and soften the scene. I applied glossy accents to all the snow layers, branches and trees and applied glitter to give the scene the sparkle of a frosty cold day. I left the deer perfectly plain and white as a contrast to all the sparkle. Here’s a closer view.
All white cards are difficult to photograph and especially if there is a shine or sparkle from glitter. The background paper looks a little greener in a couple of photos. The background is actually a very soft pale aqua.
If you haven’t checked out Ellen’s CLASSroom 12 Tags of Christmas then you need to. There are so many wonderfully creative tag projects and chances to win some wonderful prizes.
Have a great Sunday and thank you for stopping by.

You have created such a very beautiful theme & with a look of serenity. You capture what is beautiful in nature. Stellar!
Kittie, you have created a scene of quiet wonder. So beautiful. Love how the snow layers really make a difference. That MS punch must be the most used and versatile in paper crafting.
Very, very pretty card. I used your tag idea and modified it somewhat to the dies and supplies I have and made a 5 x 7 card and it turned out pretty okay…not as pretty as yours, but I’m satisfied with it. Love your ideas. I’m so glad I found your blog.
P.S. I added my glitter to the appropriate pieces before I put the card together thanks to your advice. LOL
Do you ever use Flower Soft for snow?
AWESOME!Very pretty card, love your work it is always so stunning, have a good day…

What a gorgeous scene Kittie! Love the birch trees. I live in Minnesota and it’s been snowing since midnight. Looks like one of your cards!

This is GORGEOUS! I loved your harnessed reindeer in your last post and these in your frosty forest are superb! Hugs, Lesley
I love this card Kittie I am just so sad I don’t have that wonderful deer trio die! Very pretty scene!
I love the depth you’ve built into this one. And I always love things done in white. So pretty and so wintry. I finally got my first Memory Box die recently on a sale, but haven’t had the chance to try it since it’s a butterfly border and needs to wait until spring. I’d love to have this deer trio one of these days.
So delicate and beautiful….like an icy snow globe on a tag. I do so love your dainty touch!
BEAUTIFUL!
