Susan Tierney Cockburn’s Dogwood

Good Monday morning.  I have another Susan Tierney Cockburn flower to share with you today using the Dogwood.  This flower made me homesick for the beautiful West Virginia mountains covered with dogwood in the spring.  I can’t wait to try my hand making pink dogwood next time.

I cut the petals and sponged the centers lightly with squeezed lemonade distress ink.  I formed the petals and scored the leaves by following the steps shown on Susan’s video found here.  Here are a couple closer views.

I cut the frame and attached over the embossed background with mounting tape.  I cut and sponged vintage photo ink on the Impression Obsession Bare Branch and attached inside the frame using tiny strips of mounting tape

I attached the flowers and leaves to the branches using glossy accents and finished by adding a satin multi loop bow

I hope you are enjoying seeing my projects using Susan’s flower dies.  They really are wonderful.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

  1. Dear Kittie, you have the pretties 3D floral cards EVER. I love these dogwood flowers. We had them in Washington State, too – so graceful and delicate against all the green foliage. Best wishes ♥

  3. I’m extremely happy to see that there is a dogwood flower in this line of Sizzix products. Besides the fact that I personally think they are beautiful flowers and I miss the dogwood trees that I had in my yard in Ohio every day, but the dogwood was one of my mother’s favorites so I can’t see a dogwood blossom without thinking of my mother who I miss so much. I collect dogwood stamps so I know this die will be at the top of my wish list. Your card is lovely and your blossoms look real.
