Today day seven and the last day of the Splitcoaststampers Dare To Get Dirty week long challenge event. This event is a special thank you to all of the fan club members who support the site all year long. Have you had a desire to be on the Dirty Dozen design team? This special week of challenges will give you tons of opportunity to be inspired and to show off your wonderful and creative projects right along with the current Dirty Dozen team as well as the team alumni members.  Are you a member of the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club? If not go here to check out all the benefits of being a member. If you are a member hop right on over to the special challenge forum here.

My project today was made for Cindy’s DTGD13frenziedstamper challenge with several of the new Memory Box dies-Classic Staircase, Festive Lights, Cheerful Stockings, Train Set and Mini Holly Leaves paired with Poppystamps Small Madison Window and Walking Cat as well as the Cottage Cutz Rustic Sign and Tree, McGill Baby Blooms and Martha Stewart Branch Punch.

I started by cutting out the larger pieces that I knew I wanted to use on this card.  Most of the smaller didn’t come to mind until I actually started putting the larges cuts together for the card front.

I cut the staircase in white and again using designer paper to use as wallpaper.  I attached the wallpaper slightly below the stair line so the white steps would still show.  I cover the whole card base with the same designer paper to create the wall for the window. I used the window die cut as a template guide for cutting the opening in the card base.  The window was attached to the front opening with mounting tape.

I attached the foliage and flowers to the staircase banister and then attached the staircase wall to the card base with a triple layer of mounting tape to add dimension to the wall. If you look closely you can see that I added tiny amounts of leaf green flower soft to the flower centers.

I cut several sections of the lights and added stickles to the bulbs to add sparkle. I cut the sections apart to fit the tree and attached them with glossy accents. I used a rose red copic marker to color white ribbon to create the multi loop bow for the tree. I added the tiny pink and brown train set to the base of the tree with glossy accents. If I had it to do over again I would have popped them out a little bit with rolled up glue dots.

I created a sky background for the window using my hand cut cloud template, ink blending tool and faded jeans ink. I attached the trees to the scene with mounting tape to give them plenty of space and to the make the sky appear in the distance. The scene was attached on the inside of the open window using mounting tape.  I created the pine bough arrangement for the window, inserted the walking cat and hung the “stocking with care”.  Smile I thought the little pink flowers and pine foliage on the stocking was the perfect finishing touch.

Here’s a side view to show the dimension between the staircase wall and the window wall.

I thought you would enjoy seeing the closer up views of the different areas of the card.  This took me a pretty long time to make but it was lots and lots of fun.
