Sledding

Good Monday morning!  I hope you are enjoying your long weekend as much as I am.  My project today was made using the new Impression Obsession Sled, Fir Trees and Ocean Border.  I never tire of making scenes with lots of evergreen trees and snowy landscape. I couldn’t resist making one with this precious sled die cut.  I cut the sled out of white cardstock and tried my hand at coloring it with my Copic markers. It certainly isn’t perfect but I like it anyway.

I started by cutting the trees, coloring the trunks with a brown Copic and crimping them to add dimension.  I used the ocean border dies to create the snowy landscape layers.  I used the round edges up and the pointed ocean edges down.  I crimped them with my wave crimper.  I attached them to the card base and tucked all the trees in behind the layers and attached them with mounting tape.

I colored the sled image, adding some liquid applique to the rim and tail of the hat and heated with my heat gun.  I attached the sled to the scene with mounting tape for added dimension.  Here’s a closer view.

I think this would be a perfect holiday card for a little boy or girl.

I’m glad you came by and I hope you have a great holiday.  I’m making my husband baked beans, potato salad and hotdogs on the grill.

  1. Aw, I remember sledding days. You always give me ideas, esp for my unused corrugator thingey that collects much dust. I love this scene Kittie — brr, winter is coming to many! Aloha, Rosy
