Cottage In The Woods Tag

Good Monday morning.  I have a fun Christmas tag to share with you today made using the Memory Box Cottage In the Woods paired with the Mini Snowmen and Mini Clouds. The tag is fairly small at 4โ€ x 2.25โ€ but it was lots of fun creating this little cottage scene.

I started by cutting the cottage and tree die in green and then cut the house out in dark red and the roof out again in white and pieced them together.  I used the die cut scene as a template to draw a line on white cardstock the shape of the ground area and cut it out using deckle scissors. I crimped the white ground piece and attached it to the scene and attached the scene to the tag with mounting tape. I attached the mini clouds in the background with mounting tape and then secured the trees in place with mounting tape.

I cut and assembled the mini snowmen and finished with 1/16โ€ punched circles for the coal buttons and thin strips of cardstock for the scarves.  I attached them in the scene with mounting tape.

I applied small pieces of pine and tiny punched circles to the roof line and windows for the final finishing touch.

  2. This gift tag is wonderful. Thank you for even more inspiration. Scenes on gift tags, I love it! The recipient could hang this on their Christmas Tree! I love to make gift tags that people will keep and hang after on their tree. This gives me so many ideas and possibilities for tags. That means more ways to use my dies and punches and the crimper and now the fiskars edge scissors I have kept and wouldn’t give up. Thank you for the beautiful fun inspiration, and also to use the tools I already own in new and fun projects. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tag today. Now the ideas are whirling and swirling, I will be saving this post, so that I won’t forget.

  5. What an absolutely stunning gift card. I wouldn’t want to part with it to attach it to the git. A gift in itself. I just bought the Cottage in the Woods Die (because I had to have it) but hadn’t thought of a way to use it it yet. I never thought to cut the pieces from the die apart! Thanks for also inspiring us! Have a great day.
