Good Friday morning. My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Free For All Challenge to make a project with snow. I instantly thought of my Frostyville Frame and creating some kind of scene to frame with it. I paired it with the Impression Obsession Deer Trio and a few sprigs of the Pine Sprig Cluster.
The most time consuming thing about making this card was applying tint pieces of mounting tape to the back of the frame to pop it up. After that it was a piece of cake. I cut a Debutante Frame and cut two sections of snow from it using my deckle scissors and crimped with my wave crimper. This allowed me to have the layers fit perfectly behind the frame .
I tucked the deer into the scene and attached them with mounting tape. I love the all white against the polka dot paper. It looks like snow to me.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
Lovely winter scene Kitty!!!! Great combo on the dies you used!

Beautiful snow scene! Great tip for cutting the snow so that it fits within the frame. Thank you for sharing this inspiring card today.

This is so pretty. I love the white backed by the cool blue with white dots.
I love this…unfortunately the Frostyville frame barely ever cuts out nicely for me. I have thrown out so many…any suggestions on how to cut it with success?
Marian, I keep the Memory Box Metal Adapter Plate on my Big Shot all the time. It makes such a difference when cutting any kind of die but especially the intricate ones. You can see it listed in my supplies above. If I start having trouble with an intricate die even with using my adapter plate I know it is time to change my cutting pads. They get worn down and don’t cause as much compression on the die. One other thin I try when dealing with an especially finicky die is to lay a piece of scrap cardstock over top of the paper I am cutting as it adds one more element of thickness to the sandwich. I sure hope these suggestions help.
Thanks! I use the adapter plate, (have tried with wax paper too) but have only used my Cuttlebug, and yes…the plates are pretty “used”. I’ll try again with my Big Shot (just took it out of the box) and see if that makes a difference. I also have the “Genius” plates and will try with them. Those plates are pretty snug on the Cuttlebug. It’s such a shame…I have wasted so much lovely paper and only have success with that die about one of ten tries!!!
