Good Sunday morning. I have a Christmas nature scene to share with you today. I love both the Impression Obsession Fir Trees and Birch Trees and I thought I would create a forest scene with them together. I wanted to create depth with the layered trees. I used a retired Stampin’ Up! designer paper for the background that looks like the bark of the birch tree and I think it takes the eye deeper into the forest.
I cut several birch trees and added touches of pumice stone ink with my mini applicator I started the scene by attaching the first layer of ground snow. Then I attached the large fir tree with one layer of mounting tape and I tucked one birch tree in behind it and attached with rolled up glue dots. The birch trees in front of the large fir were attached with double layered mounting tape. It amazes me how such a small distance between the layers creates so much dimension.
I tucked the smaller trees in around the scene and added a few sprigs of the branch punch along the ground areas. I colored the Leaping Deer using antique linen and vintage photo ink and my mini applicator. I popped the deer up on a double layer of mounting tape and added a few sprigs of greener and some red stickles for a touch of sparkle. I added the red birds to bring in one more element of color.
You can click on the pictures to see a closer view.
I love how this turned out. The deer looks so graceful. No hunting allowed!!!!!
I hope you have been enjoying your weekend. Thanks for stopping by.

Good morning Kittie,
This winter scene is absolutely FABULOUS!
A delight to the eye! I love this card!
Kittie, no one can make such cards as you.
You are the Queen of the scenes!!
Greetings from the Netherlands.
Great winter scene! The reindeer is colored so nicely. Reminds me of when the reindeer in the Rudolph movie are all learning and practicing to leap and fly. 🙂
Oh Kittie, each card as beautiful as the next. The effect of the deep forest is truly there when you look at this card, gorgeous. I agree NO HUNTING!!!
Deine Karten sind mal wieder so schön. Ich freue mich immer wieder deine Werke anzusehen. Mittlerweile habe ich mir schön alle Stanzen zugelegt. ;-))
Man sieht, dass du deine Karten mit viel liebe gestaltest. Bin schon auf deinen nächsten Werke gespannt.
Dir noch einen schönen 2.Advent.
Liebe Grüße Gabi aus Deutschland
Love the pops of color….great scene.
truly amazing!! (first time I’ve been here….I’m a knitter!) My idea of paper work is either a couple folds to make a star or a rubber stamp to a tag. You’ve turned this into a real piece of art.
This is a lovely forest scene Kittie! Your detail work is amazing!
Beautiful card as always, so inspiring.
Another wonderful winter scene!
Your cards are amazing and I get so many ideas from them. Keep them coming. Like the way you always show what you use to make each card. Easy to find products. Edna B.

Your scene cards are my favourites, especially the birch trees, evergreens and the beloved red cardinals. The layering in this scene is perfect. I feel as if I am going for a walk in the snowy woods on a beautiful day, maybe we are looking for our Christmas tree. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, inspiring scene.
