Bailiwick Window Vines and Butterflies

Good Saturday morning.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend morning.  I sure am.  I had lots of fun creating another see thru window card using the Poppystamps Grand Madison Window paired with the Bailiwick Background, Memory Box Butterfly Delights and Impression Obsession Large Fence. I used one coordinating sheet front and back of the Authentique Flourish designer paper for my card base.  I love this color combination.  Here’s what I came up with.

I started by attaching the designer paper to the card base.  I cut the window out twice, one for the front and one to finish the inside. I used the window as a template to draw the lines to use as my guide for cutting and used my craft knife to cut the see thru opening. You can see my see thru window tutorial here if you would like to see the step by step photos of this technique. I cut thin white strips of cardstock, ran through my crimper and attached to the card base to create a chair rail division for the two paper. I attached the window over the opening with mounting tape.

Next I cut the Bailiwick background, moved it around on the inside of the window until I got the section that I wanted to show and attached it to the inside of the window opening with ATG adhesive. I cut the unseen portions off and then attached a couple of the leaf sections to spaces that needed to be filled in a little more. I attached the second window to the inside of the card over the vines with ATG adhesive.  I cut and attached the fence section to the back side of the window.  I finished by adding several pink butterflies to the vines and window.

  1. Good afternoon, Kittie, I love these window cards, love making them too. Beautiful colors. gorgeous.
Question:One like this one, with the window cut open. would you put your
message on the back of the card? All my window cards had windows with curtains. I thought a small word written in the corner saying message on back. would tell them to turn it over without taking away from the design.
What do you think? How would you do it?
    thanks for sharing…….have a good week-end.
