Garden Pail and Hollyhocks

Good Wednesday morning.  My project today was made for the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge to use coral, yellow and olive green.  I thought the Impression Obsession Pail filled with Hollyhocks, Tiny Flowers and Leafy Branch would be perfect to create a garden bouquet with this color combination. The vanilla Sizzix Border, Label, Medallion and Key frame added dimension and interest without taking away from the colorful flowers.

I started by applying rust to the pail using rusty hinge ink and a mini applicator. I used a brown marker to add a few dots of ink in several spots to create additional distressing to the pail.

I formed the flowers and foliage using my stylus, tiny stylus and molding pad to add dimension.  I attached all the hollyhocks in the pail with glossy accents and then filled in around them with the foliage.  I attached the tiny yellow flowers to the foliage with glossy accents.  I think the arrangement looks like it was freshly picked straight out of a backyard garden. Here’s a closer view.

I cut out the decorative label and then cut a rectangle opening with a Matting Basics A die to create the frame.  I attached it to the card base with mounting tape.  I finished by placing the arrangement in the frame opening and attaching with mounting tape.  I love how this turned out.

  7. Kitty, I love it too! Those flowers do indeed look freshly picked, and your embossing with the stylus made them look so very realistic. What blew me away, though, is your rusty pail. That certainly does look weathered & vintage. Absolutely stunning. TFS & Happy wkend.
