Splitcoaststampers Dare To Get Dirty Day 4

Good Tuesday morning.  Have you been able to go over and join in the Dare To Get Dirty challenges at Splitcoaststampers?  Everyone is having lots of fun over there. My project today was made using the WPlus9 Coming Up Roses set and paired with the Impression Small Leaf Set and Bare Branch.

I love creating tree scenes and this stamp set has several different images that make it so easy.  I stamped the tree tops and ground area in green, rust and orange.  I sponged green on the ground area with a mini applicator and filled in with the colorful leaves to appear as falling leaves and fall flowers. I sponged in the sky area using an ink blending tool and a hand made cloud template.

I cut the outer layer of the frame, painted with crackle paint, ran the antique linen ink pad directly over it to add more age, and distressed using sandpaper and a file.  I double matted it with a rust frame layer and attached over top of the scene with mounting tape.  I cut several leaves, colored them lightly with distress markers  and then washed the colors together using my waterbrush. I cut the bare branch apart and attached to the frame base to create the background for the leaves.  I formed the leaves with my stylus and molding pad and attached them with glossy accents.

Here’s a closer view of the leaves.  I really love how they turned out.

  3. I love this fall scene. The leaves just pop right off the card. It certainly has been feeling like fall around here… with temps in the 50s at night! Did you link the wrong stamp set though? WPlus9 Coming Up Roses was linked.

  4. I can see now how you must have stamped the trees out of one of the stamp images! Sorry…..what about the tree trunks? Did you hand paint them?
