Headin’ Home for Christmas

Good Sunday morning.  I love the Impression Obsession Car and Camper set released this past summer.  The set comes with a car, surfboard and camper.  I thought it would be fun to create a whimsical winter scene, adding a Christmas tree on top of the car pulling a camper and heading home for Christmas. The trees in the Evergreen Trees set are just the perfect size to add to the snowy hillside along the road.

I cut the car and camper and assembled and attached the pieces with glossy accents.  I used a 1/2” circle punch and 1/4” circle punch  to create a little larger wheels.  I cut several pieces of Fir Sprigs  and glued them together to create the tree, squished them together with my fingers and wrapped them lightly with the red wire thread. I attached a small piece of cardstock to the car top with glossy accents to create a stronger base to attach the tree.  I attached the tree with glue dots.  I created a tiny bow with the wire thread and attached it along with a few fir sprigs to the camper door to add another festive element to the scene.

I attached three crimped snow layers to the back of the red frame, attached mounting tape to the back of the frame and attached it to the card base.  I cut several trees and crimped them with my straight crimper and attached along the hillside with mounting tape.  I attached the car and camper in the scene with mounting tape.  I finished by adding a large gold star from the Bare Christmas Tree set in the sky for the finishing holiday touch.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Card size:  5.50” x 4.25”   Ellen Hutson told me the Fiskars Wave Crimper is retiring.  I did a Google search and found lots of them listed on The Find. If you are interested in creating wavy snow you may want to check out the link because when they are gone….they will no longer be found.
