Impression Obsession “Holiday Greetings” Challenge

Good Thursday morning and welcome to the Impression Obsession Design Team “Holiday Greetings” challenge.  My project today was made using the Holiday Top Edgers, Small Deer, Fir Tree Border, and the frame was cut using  Matting Basics A and B

I lined up the Happy Holidays sentiment die on a larger piece of cardstock than I actually needed and ran it through my Big Shot. I then cut the paper to the size I wanted for my frame and cut the opening and the frame mat using my matting basics die.  I cut a white ground snow layer and attached to the back of the frame opening with ATG adhesive. I cut two sections of the fir tree border, cut them apart and layered and attached them to the back of the white snow layer with ATG adhesive. I applied mounting tape to the back of the frame ant attached it to the card base.

I cut the deer, applied antique linen and gathered twigs ink with mini applicators and popped them up on the outside of the frame using strips of mounting tape.

This was such a fast and easy card to make and would be easy to mass produce.  I love how the red and green pops against the all white background.

Why don’t you come along and play with us. To enter the challenge go to the Impression Obsession Blog (all the details are there!). A random challenge card will be selected to showcase on the IO blog and you can to enter to win a $25 gift certificate to IO just by playing! I hope you will go check out what the other IO teams members created for the challenge. Thanks for coming by today.

  1. Oops, wanted to ask if you always use Spellbinders A and B for the frames or do you use the 2 Lifestyle craft nesting dies and card dies sometimes. Will they make the same size frames? Thanks for your input.

  4. Eileen, The Spellbinders Matting Basics A and B and the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Card Templates are equivalent. I happen to have both but if you have either of them you don’t need the other. I hope that makes sense.

  5. Love how you mounted the deer outside of the window! I just got these deer dies and I’ve pinned this card so I can copy the shading ! Just beautiful!
