Belleek Inspired Color Washed Floral Spray

Good Tuesday morning.  The Belleek Inspired technique is one of my favorites and I especially like pairing it with Color Washed flowers. My project today was made using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Bunch of Flowers 2, Curvy Leaves, Sizzix Starry Night embossing folder and Spellbinders Classic Ovals.

I applied spun sugar distress ink on the inside of the embossing folder with my brayer, placed the cardstock in the folder and ran through the Big Shot.  I painted the flowers sections, formed them with my stylus and molding pad and assembled them with glossy accents. I scored the leaves using my leaf tool and leaf pad. and lightly bent them in with my fingers.

I attached the double matted frame  to the card bas with mounting tape.  I arranged the larger pieces of foliage on the card base and attached with glossy accents.  I attached the flowers to the foliage with small pieces of mounting tape and a little additional glossy accents.  I added a few small pieces of foliage to the arrangement to fill in.  I added champagne pearls  to the flower centers for the finishing touch.

  2. Kittie, I have been following you for awhile now, and your work is always beautiful, clean and well thought out. I don’t think I’ve seen a piece of your work, I haven’t been in love with. Do you do videos, and if not, please consider doing so. I’d give anything to be able to take a class from you. Thanks again, Carole

  3. OMG, I always gasp at how beautiful your Beeleek cards are. I’ve never been very successful at this technique, but I’m going to give it another try. I need some thank you cards and this one has given me inspiration….since Christmas, my creative juices have all dried up….thanks for the boost. Love, love, love this card and the color combo you used.

  5. Carole, thank you for such a lovely compliment. I may start doing videos when I retire. Right now working full time gives me very little extra time and I like to use it to play with my dies and paper….my perfect stress release! Taking step by step photos for tutorials doens’t take nearly as much time. I’m an old broad so retirement isn’t that far off. I would love to start a series of video tutorials then. Thank you so much for asking.
    Happy New Year!

  7. Hi Kittie,
I am always so in love with your creations, but I think this style is at the very tippy top of my Kittie list!!! I’ve tried it after watching your tutorial but I think you have the special knack which I was not born with. I will continue to work at it, and maybe someday, I will see the AHA moment of a similar look, maybe 🙂

  8. Another gorgeous Kittie creation. My heart was pounding when my computer crashed twice and I couldnt get to my normal routine today, but finally….
I always save your site for last after cleaning mail clutter because I spend time admiring your cards for some time and dont want to feel rushed. This is
a real beauty. I really want to try this technique, but havent so far. Waiting on my replacement Grand Calibur so I can finish things I started just before Christmas. Hope the new year is better. Just in case, I will wish you a Wonderful Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year now.

  9. I just received my curvy leaf dies in the mail yesterday and I really like the size of them. They are a better size for this type card. I made a few of these, modified a bit so as to not exactly copy your design, and the Elizabeth Craft leaf die I had on hand was a little too large and it seemed I had too many leaves. I still have one belleek card panel left, so I will try again using the smaller leaves. I was satisfied with the belleek results this time…previous attempts were not so successful for me.
