Good Sunday morning. I guess you could say I am on a Susan’s Garden Notes roll this week. My project today was made using the Garden Notes Sunflower and although I used the normal sunflower colors I decided to use a snow pearl center to match the white in the designer paper and framed lattice. I created a lattice frame for the flower using the Impression Obsession Rectangle 6-in-1 Frames and Taylored Expressions Floral Lattice. The designer paper is from the Authentique Classique Essentials pad.
The lattice was cut down in size to fit on the back of the frame and attached with double stick tape. The frame was attached to the card base with thin strips of mounting tape. I thought the floral designer paper was the perfect background for the flower and really liked how the flower popped against the texture of the white frame.
I wanted the flower to be full so I cut the flower base twice and the rest of the smaller petals were cut five times. The petals were all formed with the stylus and molding pad. I offset the base flower petals and attached them together with glossy accents. The smaller petals were arranged by size and attached around the flower center with glossy accents. I lightly applied Wild Honey ink to the edges of the petals to add a more natural appearance. I applied a small drop of glossy accents to reinforce the attachment of the pearl. The leaves were scored with the leaf tool and leaf pad and lightly formed with my fingers. Small pieces of mounting tape were applied to the back of the leaves to attach to the frame. The flower was attached with glossy accents.
Here’s a closer view of the flower. It allows you to see the light shade of ink applied to the petals.
This clean and simple project is perfect for so many occasions. I think the yellow and white with the touch of green makes such a happy card. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your day.
